Chris is interested in reviewing or discussing:
Devotions
Nonfiction books: memoir, spiritual growth/theology, self-help/health
CPA/taxes, self-publishing
Chris Morris is an odd duck: he is both a CPA for creatives and an author who writes about mental illness and faith. He brings a creative touch to everything he teaches with an emphasis on practicality. His new book Resilience & Other Things I Learned in the Psych Ward releases summer 2024.
Workshops
Writing Can be so “Taxing” (Specialty): Taxes and accounting probably stresses you out…but it doesn’t have to. This workshop will cover:
-
- What you can and cannot write off
- When to hire a CPA
- When you have a business, not a hobby
- How to avoid an audit
There will be time for questions. When was the last time a CPA gave you an open forum at no cost?
Chronically Creative: How to Balance Writing with Mental Illness (Writing Life): Many people battle mental illnesses, and struggle with guilt as a result of it. For creatives, a bad day can make it impossible to progress on projects. In this class, learn how to balance grace and perseverance, how to “forgive yourself” for your illness, and how to move forward even on the bad days. These topics are taught from a deep well of personal experience.
