How to Submit Book Reviews
Are you interested in getting free reading material
AND supporting fellow WCCW writers
AND getting featured in our newsletter read by over 1.2K subscribers?
(I know! That’s a lot of ANDs!)
Email your interest in being a book reviewer for our WriteBrave eNewsletter to amandaconquers@gmail.com. We will select one person from among our reviewers each month to write the featured book’s review.
Reviewers will receive an ARC (advanced reader copy—either a physical book, a PDF file or a Kindle download from either the publisher or the author). You will have one month to read the book and send us your review. Reviews are due the first of the month your book review is featured.
Review Guidelines
Reviews should be 150 words (about 6 sentences). Include a 1-2 sentence summary of the book (including genre). The author will provide this info, but feel free to adapt it.
(Optional) Include a powerful quote from the book (1-2 sentences).
Your review should answer the following questions:
- Who would enjoy this book?
- How will the reader benefit from this book?
- What did you like about it OR what was your favorite aspect/part/section?
Reviews are due the 1st of the month it will be featured.
Along with your review, please send us your name and one link (to your website or preferred social media account).
We think it’s good practice to plan on also sharing your review on Goodreads, Amazon, etc., to support our WCCW authors, but we do not require it.
Write for Our eNewsletter!
Submissions for the WriteBrave newsletter are OPEN
We are looking for 300-word max articles that benefit our audience (mostly Christian writers of different genres in our region).
We are asking for articles that have 5 actionable points/tips that our readers can put into practice right away.
OR We are asking for articles with personal stories of how God is showing up in your writing or what you are learning as a writer (told in a way that would benefit others).
Our Summer 2019 Focus
For our summer newsletters, we want to encourage writers to keep going.
- How to keep going after facing rejections.
- How to find time in the summer months to write.
- How can we keep our writing momentum going in spite of obstacles.
- How to set up social media channels to maximize our reach and not burn out.
Note: These topics are suggestions that will hopefully spark your own ideas. Tell us a personal story or give us 5 (or so) actionable points to equip up to tackle various writing challenges. If you have something you want to share that doesn’t fit with our current theme, query the editor to see if your idea can be used in our upcoming issues of WriteBrave newsletter.
