Mission and Vision

West Coast Christian Writers (WCCW) equips and encourages writers of all levels in the craft and business of writing for publication through conferences offering quality instruction, industry updates, community, and personal inspiration.

West Coast Christian Writers is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible and will help WCCW continue offering quality conferences, instruction, and programs to further the ministry of writers.

West Coast Christian Writers, formerly the Christian Writers Seminar, was founded by Pastor Jon Drury, who directed the seminar as a ministry of Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley. The first Christian Writers Seminar was in 1993 with Ethel Herr as the keynote speaker. Other past keynoters include James Scott Bell, Cecil Murphey, and Francine Rivers. In 2015, Pastor Jon Drury passed the torch to a new team under the leadership of Susy Flory, and the conference was rebranded as the West Coast Christian Writers (WCCW). The conference found a new home at Crosswinds Church in Livermore, but the growing community eventually outgrew the campus. In 2020, WCCW launched an online conference due to the pandemic, and in 2023, will resume in-person gathering at Bridgeway Church in Roseville, CA.
